Troubadour of the West

Like Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan before him, Colorado singer/songwriter Matt Campbell is a wanderer with America’s heartland firmly in his own heart.

Recently returned from a brief exploration of New York City, where he played shows at places like the Bitter End while working on gathering some new material, Campbell’s folky music has been growing in notoriety on Colorado stages.

In preparation for his third album (”Songs of the American West”), Campbell has released an edition EP with the double bill of  “In the Town/The Other Side of Town,”  which is available for a limited time.   His previous album, “Out Amoungst the Shadows,” was hailed as one of the Best in 2006 by the Rocky Mountain Chronicle.

While this one-time Denver resident now makes his home in Fort Collins, he meanders often to stages around the state and is definitely worth a solid listen.  For those up North, Campbell will be playing at Hodi’s Halfnote (in Old Town Ft. Collins) on June 4th.
