Tokio Hotel “Scream” download for $2

I’ve seen them on MTV briefly, but as with anything MTV in the last 10 years, there was no music. It was just a tour kickoff interview and video clips of the band at NYC landmarks.

So when I saw this two dollar download I thought what the hell, even if it’s bad it’s an album for $2. Might as well check out what the fuss is about.

The only problem was that I listened to the previews before I bought it. Ugh, it’s horrible, re-treaded 80s rock. It’s Bon Jovi with updated sounds. Don’t be fooled; there’s lots of music like this out there now. Much of it is penned by focus groups to appeal to the widest-possible audience.

If you must have music by bands with Japanese cities in their name, get Tokyo Police Club’s fine Elephant Shell.
