Reznor Announces New Drummer

Earlier this week, Nine Inch Nails’s Trent Reznor announced on his website, that 20 year-old Ilan Ruben of Welsh Band Lost Prophets will be joining the NIN at the beginning of 2009. Ruben will be replacing former NIN drummer John Freese and hopes to bring a new dynamic to the industrial rock phenomenon. The Lost Phophets made a name for themselves in the US in 2004 after releasing their major label debut “Start Something,” while their fan base has a larger scope on our side of the pond, the UK following remains devoted.

Here’s what Reznor had to say about the new drummer, taken from nin.com:

With great pride and excitement I announce the addition of Ilan Rubin to the lineup beginning next year. I had the chance to see Ilan playing his ass off at Reading and Leeds a couple summers ago and he blew me away. We recently invited him out to rehearse with us and he blew US away – the perfect guy to pick up the sticks after Josh leaves us at the end of the year.”
