The Republic Tigers

From the moment I opened my Paste Magazine sampler early last year, I’ve been addicted to the near perfect cadence That is The Republic Tigers.

Its a kind of haunting sound that only the prettiest of voices can create. There’s a sense of simplicity that provides the depth on their single, Buildings and Mountains ( the first song that I was privy to). Their sound is an eloquent balance of staggering drums that accommodate mellow but rich baselines, anxious guitar and echoing harmonies. I see a big future for this St. Louis quintet, or at least a long ride on the indie bandwagon.
