2009 Will Bring…

A ton of new music.

2008 was good to us, well in regards to new tunes. But 2009 is looking to be another jam packed year for new records. Currently on my radar are:

Brand New, who have been in the studio since the middle of 2007.  BN remains one of those bands that continually evolves and transcends genres, their last album, “The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me” was easily one of the best records of 2006 and is one of my fav’s of all time. Brand New plans on releasing the now untitled LP sometime this spring.

Taking Back Sunday has been in the studio since late last year working on their follow to “Louder Now” released in 2006. Their newest disc remains untitled but the sound is going to reflect the new line-up and a more mature evolved sound. TBS did a mini tour this past December and the new tunes received great response. The band continues to be pretty hush-hush on the direction the untitled LP is taking but my guess is it’ll be a bit of a throw back to the intensity that makes them so great.

The Decemberists are planning to release their newest “Hazards Of Love” March 24th on Capitol Records.

Portugal The Man are planning for their newest disc to hit this June on Equal Vision Records.

RMMB will keep you posted throughout the year on releases.
