Noel Gallagher may be sober these days, but Oasis’s newest studio album, Dig Out Your Soul certainly isn’t lacking any mind altering elements. The album opens with the seemingly psychedelic “Bag it up.” Taking listeners on a journey through crashing symbols, haunting baselines, and eager chords, “Bag it up” is indicative of just how much growth this seasoned band has been through. Sometimes more popular for their off stage sibling rivalry and exuberant ego’s, Oasis is still proving that they have the staying power to propel them into a new era of music. On “High Horse,” Liam’s tone seems to skate effortlessly in tune with the songs anticipatory chords. You can hear each instrument including infectious clapping, individually and cohesively at the same time. Each of the eleven tracks on the album speaks in its own vernacular while keeping pace with came before and what will come after. Oasis continues to baffle out ears, tap our toes, and tug on all our heart strings. If you haven’t had the pleasure of giving it a listen, I urge you all to do yourselves a favor and take advantage of some of the most progressive sounds available today.

RMMB will keep you all posted on Oasis’s upcoming tour.

Tuesday, September 23rd, Common along with N.E.R.D. and special guests Chester French, provided a spectacle of rhythm and vibrations that only Hip Hop’s finest can deliver.

The show began at around 7:30 with opening act Chester French taking the stage to a nearly half full auditorium. In typical opening band fashion, Chester French, who recently signed with Pharell’s Star Trak Entertainment label, came out with enough energy to get the crowd warmed up and dancing for the entire night. The brief but energetic five song set helped to set the tempo for the rest of the evening. After a not so brief set change, Pharell and the rest of N.E.R.D. took the stage to a nearly busting at the seems venue. Starting the set off with “Anti-matter” of their newest LP, was definitely a crowd pleaser. The group then went on to play a 10 plus song set list that varied from lesser known tracks to a explosive cover of “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes. With very few tricks left in the bag, Common came out to the most riled up group of fans Denver has to offer. Having modeled the stage after the bar, Common had the first half of the set resemble the effortlessly fashionable MC’s, futile ploys to get into the hottest club around. A perfectly balanced mix between live band and DJ, the scenario and set became near believable. The majority of Common’s less than an hour set were sure crowd pleasers culminating with a short Free-style. While the set seemed notably shortened, energy and groove were definitely not in moderation.
